The issue here is that there were leaks (from American soldiers on the ground), not that the leaks tell us how poorly, criminally and un-win-able this war has been, is and will be.
So what are we going to do about it? That seems more than obvious. Put some US Army privates on trial for treason and toss them in jail for a few years. Then this will be all fixed and we can proceed with this crazyass crusade.
You know what happened to Oliver Stone the other day? Kruthhammer, Kristol, The Weekly Standard, Neo Cons… Sadly I have learned even small blogs like this have to keep their mouth shut on this aspect of foreign policy or pay the price.
But I can comment on Republicans who have already added an unfunded $1 trillion to the debt for this war while they lobby to keep it going for another 10 to 20 years.
The GOP, the Party of War, executions, guns, hate, anger, mass deportations, racial profiling and religious intolerance. What’s not to like!
Just those issues alone call for trudging through rain and snow to the voting booths to pull straight GOP tickets. We are in denial as to who and what we really are.
