Republicans can’t advertise "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," but before they’re fitted for choir robes it should be noted that the only word which needs changing is "cheap." It takes a great deal of money to their pull off sleazy shenanigans.
Most recently, Republican political operative Steve May recruited drifters and homeless people, placing them on the Green Party ballot. Lawsuits are flying from the Green Party and the Democratic Party. In all, there were 11 candidates.
Three of whom who are still in the running serve as examples. Benjamin Pearcy a 20 year old street guitar player who lists his office as Starbucks is in line for a seat on the Arizona Corporation Commission. Thomas Meadows 27, a tarot card reader is running for State Treasurer, and may have an advantage over the other candidates for the position. For State Senate, we have Anthony Goshom 53, known as "Grandpa" who drives a pedicab, and yes…we certainly could do worse!
Steve May’s diabolical flash of genius was to use these people – in every sense of the word. May’s plan is to siphon votes from Democratic voters in much the
same way Ralph Nader’s third party status has affected previous elections. Obviously there is a vast difference between Ralph Nader and hapless street people who have been preyed upon by a Republican street hustler, who seems quite proud of his actions. This is the party which will not help the homeless, but
has no qualms about using them for their own dirty tricks.
