If we were to put a tax on gasoline, and do a 10% VAT tax for 2 years hybrid and electric cars would become dominate, we would not need to import oil, we could pay the national debt in full, save Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, fund universal health care and make college free for everyone. But we would rather literally kill the Earth and all die before we would accept any NEW TAXES. It is what we are, SELFISH AND STUPID. Bad combination.
