Ardi Rizal or "Ciggie Smalls" as he’s been dubbed, has become a world-wide celeb of sorts, since a video of the baby nonchalantly having a smoke went viral. By now you’ve gathered that the ubiquitous no smoking signs don’t hang in Sumatra, nor are the health risks widely known or acknowledged. The two-year old is up to two packs a day, and mainly rides, as toddling causing him to get winded. The latest salvo in the stop Ardi from smoking campaign has come by way of an offer from the government. They’ve offered the family a new car if the child stops. I know many Americans who would stub out their last with such an offer! No deal, says dad. The child seems healthy to his parents, and perhaps more to the point, the parents report that he throws terrible tantrums if they try to cut him back. He is in the "terrible twos" and doesn’t drink – yet.
