I go back to the first time I heard the 1989 Queen song by that name. Please no adversity, no negativity and no waiting. And since that time we have been growing ever more inward.
It goes way back, from the WE DECADE of the late 1960s to the ME DECADE of the 1970’s, to the ONLY ME decade of the 1980s, to the ME, MY, MINE and I decade of the 1990s, to the ME, MY, MINE, I AND FK YOU decade of the Double Oughts, to MY PHONE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU of the present.
So much for the once great Rolling Stones song, You Can’t Always Get what You Want, which I might add, was missing from the act for the first time in 40 years when I saw them just a few years ago. The chorus of which I must have sang to my kids a gigatrillion times…
