Bassem Yousseff observes that America is bored by democracy, and waking up to the idea that we should be ruled by the biggest bully with the most gold (reportedly), it worked in Italy with Mussolini, and it’s working in Egypt – even when it doesn’t – so why not elect Donald Trump! Again paraphrasing Yousseff, like other supreme leaders, Trump controls the media, he has a cult of personality, he’s fearless (again, reportedly), he silences the opposition, he likes to see people suffer, he rules absolutely, he has all that gold – and most importantly, he has a deep abiding friendship with Dennis Rodman.
You’ll meet a Muslim – Republican lady who is campaigning for Trump. I had to blink my eyes to be sure I was seeing correctly. Yousseff says; “Trump is the choice for discerning Muslims who love America but yearn for a comfort of a restrictive dictatorship.” Yousseff attends a Trump rally in Georgia, where we learn why people love The Orange One so. Various replies were; He’s electric, he’s energetic, he’ll make America great again – although no one was clear on the specifics of the last one.
An adorable lady said she supported Trump because: “He is a very intelligent person.” Yousseff asked her what Trump has done to make her think he’s intelligent. Her reply: “Well…I watched him on ‘The Apprentice.”
That’s America, folks. Is Canada full-up yet?
