All the talk of The Donald’s Civil War crap, whether it be talking heads on cable, late night, or youtube videos, is missing the boat on the elephant in the room. Before we had alternative facts and fake news we had fake history.
To the vast majority of Southerners and to what I would guess a majority of Trump voters the civil war was fought not over slavery but States Rights, the price of cotton and Northern aggression. No matter the state right in question was owning people, that the price of cotton was dependent upon slavery and that it was South Carolina that started the whole thing with it’s aggression upon Ft Sumter. Fake History.
For a generation we also suffered from fake culture regarding guns, the more there are the safer we be. With about 10 times the homicide rate of the rest of the industrialized world right there to see.
Where did all this fake crap all begin? And why is it so accepted by so many? Fake religion which began it all and made it not only acceptable but required.
