The prize winners were actually Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, and Gretchen Carlson, that cheery team of FriendFoxups who make me glad I miss mornings, but who have also taught us all a valuable lesson!
Golden Peabody Award! Brian Doocy and Foxed up Friends: Move over Colbert!
This is the Foxy Friends’Peabody Award winning story. In case you missed it too, they broke the story of the year, ” Climate-Gate!” They may be sleeping when Jon Stewart comes on, but Fox never sleeps, or stops snipping very minute bits of video to show, when they’re not transposing crowd scenes. They were the first, and only team to show Jon Stewart’s admission that climate change is a hoax.
The man everyone thinks is so witty and personable even took a swing at Al Gore! You’ll see the clip here – if you don’t blink, as well as that bit from Stewart before it was clipped from his show…when it was much longer, and might have struck some as humorous. In their wisdom, Fox left the majority on the cutting room floor. While I’m certain ‘the friends’ only saw the short clip shown, which didn’t stop them from anualyzing it to death; the nagging doubt
remains…even if they saw the entire Daily Show – much less the rest of their clip, would they know it was humor?
Silver to Gretchen Carlson: It’s a great day for Friends of Foxed! Carlson got Derek Jeter all to herself to interview, on the occasion of being named Sports Illustrated’s Man of the Year. Is this the swimsuit edition everyone’s so excited
about? Gretch can gush! Rarely have I heard anyone lauded with so much nauseating, gratuitous, ego schmoozing. Oh, hold the phone. Oopsie! You know how we beauty queen natural blondes are. She forgot to share just one teensy
weensie family fact with the viewers. I dunno, it might account for the spectacle we – and Jeter just endured.
Bronze: Boring ol’ Ari Fleischer. These days his number of topics to sound off about are limited. Perhaps that is why he’s taken on the vital topic of “Obama’s playoff scheme.” Is there nothing this President is not into? College football, with a war and a deficit..not to mention health care and a million other
issues. Health care brings us back full circle to the college ball players who are in the eye of this storm!
