If – the people Jimmy Kimmel’s show interviewed are telling the truth, the Iowa caucus is null and void, and in need of a ‘do-over’, because the people questioned on Hollywood Boulevard swear they voted in the caucus, just the day before. Surely they wouldn’t fib in a Lie Witness News segment – maybe they’re just confused about what they did earlier on Monday?
Note, that even Jimmy’s joke about the Iowa caucuses fell flat; “the Iowa caucuses, I heard they had them in Iowa this year.” While it’s not a knee-slapper, the little joke was greeted with SILENCE…And the chirping of crickets. This leads me to believe that the studio audience – who are generally eager to please, may have missed the reference entirely. If so, we can’t expect the ‘Lie Witness News’ folks to be sharper than the studio audience. However, they could admit that they weren’t yukking it up at a congenial polling place, causing me to wonder if I too – missed an opportunity to cast my vote, and the orgy of refreshments and gift cards which seem to be a happy part of voting for some.
