Conan shows how all-American he is by taking a short version of the U.S. Citizenship test. That accomplished, I suspect Conan is just showing off when he adds prom versions of TV shows.
Taking the test – it’s the right thing to do. With Republican blowhards like Phyllis Shafly spouting that Latin immigrants don’t know or understand the Bill of Rights, perhaps they’ll fall in line behind Conan and prove that they too could pass the very citizenship test that immigrants already have passed.
To get serious for a moment, so frightened that Latino voters will kick their lily white behinds out of office with Democratic votes, Repugs are making inane statements like Shafly’s – who earlier today could not seem to grasp that Latinos who haven’t become citizens won’t be voting anyway. It’s a small thing to ask House members and the Shafly’s on the periphery to pass a citizenship test and thin out the ranks.
If you’re not familiar with her, Shafly is seen here telling married women that they cannot be raped. Her grasp on the issues is consistently incomprehensible.
