Republicans, Fox News and of course TEXAS do not like education for preschoolers. Or come to think of it, education for anyone. After all, whenever you hear about Republican success in reducing taxes, or deficit cuts or reducing the debt, rest assured the biggest part of that hammer will come down on education and children. I don't even think that can be argued.
Head Start always reminds me of Texas Congressman Dick Armey who voted against it every time renewal came up, often the only vote in either house. You remember Dick Armey, Freedom Works, the money and organizational PAC for the Tea Party. Oh and the guy who called Barney Frank “Barneyfag!” Ah Texas… Remember Tom DeLay? BTW, he is not in jail, yet.
Yall have to understand, it is no fluke that the states with the lowest education funding and graduation rates also have the least gun controls, the most murders and the most executions. The bigger the gun, the faster if fires, the easier it is to get, and of late, the more easily others can see it on you, the fewer smartypants there will be telling you what to do.
