An angry Tammy Meyers woke her 22 year old son and told him to get his gun to help her go look for the jerk in the middle of the night. They found him. He followed them home, they had a shoot out in the driveway and Tammy is now no longer with us.
Sure I want to play the Beatles LET IT BE in the background, or mention that Jesus came to earth to try and stop the circle of vengeance that is the cause of most pain and violence in the world. But that is universal to humanity, the real horror in this story is our American gun culture.
The FACT that had there been no gun in Tammy Meyers home she would be cooking up pancakes for her four children and her husband this morning. And few, not even her son, husband, the NRA, or gun enthusiasts are able to come to terms with THAT FACT. Somehow it gets turned on it’s head that had there been more guns, or a bigger magazine, or a bigger of faster firing gun things would have worked out just fine. Guns and God go together like grits and stupid.
