New Rules with Bill Maher, Konin and advice to young people March 16 2012

Happily for me, I will leave this Earth before I ever TEXT anything to anyone. But hopefully I will be around long enough to see keyboards and mice replaced by my voice. Wait a minute! If I can talk into the phone which turns what I say into text for me, is that TEXTING? Hold it! If I speak into the phone which turns what I say into text, and the person on the other end has their phone turn my text into voice, what in the Hell in that? A phone call?
I am told by the younguns around here that one "texts" to people one doesn’t want to talk to. Like your mother asking where you are. Or aquintences, or old lovers! Or new lovers you don’t really like. "Friends" you can still actually talk to on the phone.
My advice to young people is much like what Ken Kesey – the Merry Prankster bus guy – had to say when he got older.  For every shot, puff and snort there is a price to pay. So keep it a manageable level
What I find most sad about the young is they won’t watch a black & white movie. No experience with Cagney, Bogart, King Kong or Frankenstein. They won’t even watch not so old great movies like Bonnie and Clyde, 2001, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest or Beach Blanket Bingo.
