Samantha Bee wants you to know that ‘Black Lives Matter’ does not mean ‘Black Lives Matter’ ONLY, or Matter MORE, but sadly that’s what many at the RNC believe the group is about. In the experience of many, a movement with a racial identity must exist to exalt that race to the belittlement and exclusion of others. Where would white people get such an idea? Please let me know, OKKKay?
While many admit that they truly know nothing of the group’s goals, they feel it is a hateful, divisive force. One described it as ‘an evil organization bordering on the KKK.’ Another white man pontificated; “Your chances of being shot by the police are nonexistent if you do everything right.” That statement is 100% true in his sphere of existence…And a complete nullification of the Black Lives Matter message.
Are you getting the impression that we’re simply not communicating with one another on a personal level? One lady was frustrated enough to admit that the Black Lives Matter movement wasn’t her direct concern, when she didn’t even “know whether they wanted to be called black or African-American!” The Sam Squad interviewer gently asked if she’d asked them what they’d like to be called. It wasn’t long, but it was a personal dialogue – and that’s something!
