Have the secessionists really thought this thing through? Oh sure, it’s fun to name a new country and design a new flag. Someone may actually write a national anthem that is easier to sing! On the down side,there will be no ‘Socialist’ Social Security for them! Likewise, no Medicare, Medicaid, NASCAR,NBA, local fire station,public school, police department, city airports, public works like roads and water – well, you get the picture…They apparently don’t.
Another consideration: if they succeed to secede there are no convenient North/South dividing lines. It’s unlikely that anyone wants to move, so it is possible that you will be living next to a resident of the new country…Thus making them immigrants. It’s a lucky thing that many of the suggested ways of dealing with immigrants haven’t come to pass hey, how’s self-deportation sounding now? Papers please!
