You probably have a couple of these disgusting treatments in mind. With all of our medical advances, nothing can beat the live,squirming ministrations of maggots and leeches, each for their particular task…But they aren’t the only live critters used by modern medicine! I think you’ll be as shocked as I, when you see what they are, and how they are used. I thought the idea was to keep these creepy crawlers out of us, not inside! This is definitely a case when ‘just do the treatment, and don’t tell me or show me, doctor – please,’ applies.
It seems that the more revolting the ‘medicine’ – the more useful it can be.
