This trend to protect the wealthy over food safety is just one example of the new dynamic of American Politics.
I think former New York Governor Pataki puts it best out on the stump pushing primarily for even more tax cuts for the wealthy. Pataki makes no bones about it, it is matter-of-fact extortion. If a City, County, State or Country taxes the wealthy – which they will not tolerate – then the wealthy will take their ball and move elsewhere. If we ALL do not chip in to protect even the most filthy rich boneheads, they will take their money and your job and move to Sleepy Holler, Alabama, the Cayman Islands or China. This is the core of the issue, for as the least taxed nation in the civilized world, we all know the only fix for our economic crisis is for everyone to pay a bit more and the wealthy to pay a lot more. That’s the answer we refuse to accept.
