Protestors who showed up fashionably late at the ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Washington D.C. today were greeted by thousands of anti-racist protestors. The scene today was quite the reverse of the very first ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, held one year ago. The violent first rally turned deadly when a far-right protestor rammed a car into a group of counter- protestors killing one woman and injuring several others.
‘Unite the Right’ protestors not only arrived late, but left their own rally after a very brief time. Many of the protestors wore masks, causing some to speculate that the trend toward colorful sheets has put a damper on traditional head-wear for fascist, racist groups.
