How did the Jesus of the Bible, a ‘liberal’ – if you will, who believed in non-violence, healed the sick, and made wine jugs fill instantly for free, become the 21st century symbol for those who are the polar opposite of who he was and what he preached?
Many of those wearing Jesus on their sleeve today are more than happy to let the sick sort it out for themselves, spend the nation into debt waging wars, and
would never fill a wine cask or tap a keg, without making a hefty capitalist profit – party or no party. Which version is the historical Jesus?
