Having to always do better, make more, sell more and buy more than last month, last quarter – or if really looking long range – last year is the very basis of capitalism. The alternative of course is socialism, and who wants to live in a country that has a pluralistic mix of socialism and capitalism? Well other than the entire rest of the world? Anyone? Someone? Oh yeah, there are two groups who hate that idea, both from America, the Republican Party and the Libertarian Party. Okay, and the Cayman Islands.
This process has come home to roost in my life with HGTV which is perhaps the worst of it. Fashion over function, appearance over substance, want over need. Black is in these days, but I am sure that will change as paint companies need to jack up sales when black paint sales level off. What a steady stream of crap form that horrid channel, to even be considered human one needs to tear up thousands of dollars of high end carpeting and replace it with more expensive high end hard floors to then cover with even more expensive design carpeting. If you don’t rip out your bathrooms and kitchens to put in granite counters you can’t sell a house. Appliances have to all taken to the curb and be replaced with stainless steel with black trim or you will go to Hell with the rest of the pollocks and trailer trash. Computers, phones, TVs, cars it’s the same thing.
Anyone who has been in sales knows the game. If you surpass your nut from last month, next month your nut increases which you have to surpass the following month with a that constant monkey on your back called sales managers. Who in turn has the board room on their back. Wells Fargo is the model not the exception.
The great recession of 2008 was caused by the same thing, increase sales of homes by any means, which the loan rating companies played along with, who were also pushed from above to forever increase their monthly nuts.
Okay if we in America flat out refuse to solve our health care problems – because white people do not want any more of their hard earned money taken by the federal government to give to lazy Negroes – with a payroll tax going to non profit providers as THE WHOLE REST OF THE WORLD DOES, can we at least delegate basic health through NON PROFIT insurance plans.
