So much of the media, Yankees and city dwellers just don’t see the real America as so many of us actually living in it do.
Just this week I had a black f150 pull in to the gas pump next to me with large flags stuck in the back transom, one the DONT TREAD ON ME and the other the Confederate flag. These Millennials wanted to make small talk and all I could think of was saying, “you have any idea what an insult that is to that Black guy over there?” So I said nothing at all.
Worse, a rainstorm found me caught under a crowded bridge in the boat the other day and I had to tie up to a bass boat painted as a confederate flag playing Hank Williams Jr at full blast, with two 8 year old kids on board. Shit, I can’t even go to the only beach we can still drive on down here without having to distance myself from several big black trucks with giant COME AND TAKE IT banners with the M16 silhouettes over the cab. And yall think it’s mean to call these racists “deplorable?” You don’t know the half of it. It’s 70% of the white people in just Texas alone.
