Billy Eichner, cheers on comedian Rachel Dratch as she tackles the latest obstacle course from Billy on the Street, “Leah Remimi’s Escape from Scientology!” The course is named after the King of Queens actress, who – unlike some who have divorced men from the cult, went public with the weirdness that is Scientology and presumably kept her kids, friends and career.
Dratch ran a bizarre obstacle course – which resembled nothing so much as a pepperoni pizza-induced nightmare. However, the truly bizarre aspect of the perils she tackled, was that they were plucked from the reality of Scientology.Dratch signed a billion-year contract with the church, and was married by intergalactic overlord Xenu. Is it just me, or doesn’t it seem as if the brides of Scientology might be tipped off in the pre-wedding phase? When choosing a priest or a rabbi, an alien overlord is not usually a tie-breaker for most couples.
Getting into the cult was the easy part. To get out, Dratch had to save her children from the Sea Org..Unlike Remini, Dratch searched for, and located Shelly Miscavige (who in reality is still missing), but for the game the founder’s wife was found in a vat of jello. Dratch freed a gaggle of clothesless men from John Travolta’s shed, and scaled the Dianetics volcano, and was rewarded for her valor.
It is not known whether Dratch became ‘clear’ in the process.
