Bob Inglis, a Republican everyone could vote for, except Republicans

There was a Bill Maher question to Arianna Huffington this past Friday night on Real Time with Bill Maher. "Can you name a Republican you could vote for?" Maher asked. Ms Huffington could not come up with anyone. Neither could I. It was the purpose behind Maher’s question, that the GOP has candidates now so far into loopyville there are not any reasonable people left.

Well hold on to your hats!  I found one!  An opinion piece that gained syndication from South Carolina Congressman Bob Ingles!  South Carolina! Reading it I had to check the footer half a dozen times to make sure I was reading it right, a Republican Congressman from South Carolina.  Here are just a few clips from the Bob Inglis environment article

Somewhere along the way — while reacting against environmentalism – we lost the conservation part of conservatism.

They – the environmentalists – want us to drive small cars," a woman told me as I campaigned for Congress last year. She explained that she and her retired husband needed their Suburban and their Yukon. "How do they expect us to get our stuff around?" she asked incredulously. "We’ve got three cats."

That’s not conservative. Her reaction against the "enviros" blinds her to her country’s national security risk.

Inlgil goes on to stomp on the oil, gas and coal companies! Down here in Dumbutt he is what the guns are for.

So what’s the deal! How can this be? This is just impossible!

Oh, here it is!

Incumbent Republican Congressman Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) lost his primary bid to a Tea Party activist by 42 points, the biggest primary loss of the year! And it wasn’t only because he cared about the Earth, but also he has been know to utter such words as ‘bipartisan", "moderation", and even once said we should stop listening to fear mongers like Glenn Beck!  Joe Wilson who called the President a liar from the floor of Congress WON his South Carolina primary with 88% of the vote!
