Bob Woodward joins the growing number of misguided elitists who want to reach out to Trump voters without having a clue as to the what, where and who of what they are dealing with. How much time has either Bob or Bernie spent in Alabama, Texas, rural Montana or Northern Wisconsin? I doubt either one could find Nebraska on a map.
The media, and the rest of us, have to start doing what Trump supporters like or else they will not vote for Democrats! WHAT A HOOT! The only hope is not that they will vote for Democrats, they would die first, but a few will not vote at all.
The game is not to celebrate their bigotry, intolerance, ignorance and hate but rather to get out the Independent and Democratic votes.
Ah smugness, another word for elitists, and uppity, and educated who read books and such.
I do understand on a personal level though. In fact many many years ago I made up a list of how a liberal can stay in the good graces of Texans, rural Americans and Southerners.
Ten rules for a Yankee to get along in Texas:
- Never say you went to college. The slip up there is telling one of those crazy drinking stories they like sharing and saying something like “and we started the dorm on fire” or “back at college we had keg parties on weekdays.”
- Never be seen or admit to reading a book unless it has TOM CLANCY on the cover. In fact I actually did have a RED OCTOBER book cover I put over books I took on a plane.
- Always laugh at NWORD jokes.
- Wear a baseball cap and or something camo.
- Call everyone SIR or MA’M.
- Never admit you do not have a gun, handy.
- Say “God Bless” at the end of making a point.
- Drive a pickup truck.
- Drink a lot of Bud Light and Bourbon.
- DON’T GO TO MEXICO ON VACATION! THEY WILL KILL YOU.
