George Bush, Dick Cheney, John Ashcroft, Bill O’Reilly, Donald Rumsfeld – in other words, the good ol’ war crimes crew, offer their sincere apologies. Apologies which are every bit as sincere as these louts are capable of making. Throw in a mea culpa from Paul Ryan, Fidel Castro and the Easter Bunny who are finally coming clean too, and it seems as it things are really looking up – or this is an April Fool prank! Americans have Apology Amnesia. People in high places can commit nearly any crime against humanity and issue an insincere ‘Im sorry’ via the media and all is forgiven. Some need never apologize, the bigger the crimes, the less likelihood of an apology, or a call for one. We protect Dick Cheney, who is wanted by the Hague for war crimes. To show how powerful the Dark Lord is, I offer a homely example of the least of Dick Cheney’s crimes.
Cheney shot Harry Whittington, a Republican lawyer in a hunting accident. ..There is good reason why Democrats don’t go hunting with Cheney. Whittington suffered a minor heart attack when a shotgun pellet lodged near his heart, and still showed facial bruising when he was released from the hospital. On that day, he stood on the hospital steps and not only absolved Cheney, but apologized to him (for having his face in Cheney’s sites?)
Whittington said: “My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice-President Cheney and his family have had to go through this past week.” Yup, a heart attack ’twas nothin’ for the older man, but heaven forbid Cheney be inconvenienced. That is some evil power! By now you know without watching the video, that despite what the title says, Cheney isn’t apologizing for anything – ever.
