The truth of this cartoon comes screaming at you whenever you go to most any website and read the comments on anything to do with the Zimmerman trial. It’s bad enough reading the comments on CNN, ABC, NYT, but YOUTUBE should have little Klan hoods as gravatars for most there. And they are so ubiquitous dominating even the comment areas at the Huffington Post. It is not about race or guns, it is about a good American named George Zimmerman giving Trayvon Martin what he had coming, and the President is the racist.
It sounds like a joke, but down where I live many many white people actually tell me “I am no racist, I just hate NWORDS.” They say it without embarrassment in all seriousness. I guess it’s one of those Southern Talking Points I just never adjusted property for.
