There are five big takeaways from this moment:
- The President of the United States publicly calls for more police brutality.
- The New York officers in attendance applauded and cheered for his call for more police brutality.
- President Trump is so happy with the police applauding and cheering his call for more brutality that he turns to the police behind him to soak up the adoration for such a terrific call.
- This – like the LBGT ban – is yet another turd on the Republican Brand
- After a day of it I have yet to see or hear what any African American has to say about this. Attending as I do to my white MSNBC, my white CNN, my white Houston Chronicle, my white NPR, my white PBS and so on.
On the bright side – as was the case with the response from the military to General Tweety and his ban on transgender – every police organization in America told him to suck eggs.
But again, just like the LBGT ban, this caused a run on Depends at the Walmart as the entire Republican Base once again found themselves peeing their pants in ecstatic bigotry. For as you must know, every suspect arrested is not only guilty but are either black or Hispanic in great need of getting their heads knocked on police cars. It is what Jesus would do. In fact for them, Trump is as close to Jesus as it gets.
