The conservative blogosphere is awash with “Leftist Colbert” destroying David Letterman’s signature show with “Leftist” commentary and guests while Republicans walk away by the hundreds of thousands.
The numbers hold fairly steady with Jimmy Fallon leading the pack with about 3.7 million views a night and both Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert around 2.4 million. So it’s just a bunch of crap and not much different than the numbers were with the old hosts.
I have to agree with Ed here, that Colbert is best with interviews and his sit down pieces he carried over from Comedy Central. What Ed missed is Colbert’s horrible terrible unfunny version of the old Johnny Carson Carnac the Magnificent with the purple hair. It stinks Stephen!
With Fallon, Kimmel and even Saturday Night Life all trying to gain share by going apolitical, the hard hitting “Leftist” politics we are in such dire need of – that we once got from John Stewart and Stephen Colbert at Comedy Central – has now been reduced to one show and one man, Larry Wilmore, an African American who is at the bottom of the share game. I wonder why that is?
