‘Om, Om, Omygawd’ this is funny stuff! With the carrot of enlightenment always just out of reach – quite literally; DonnaLou and her delightful pals ‘The Birds of Play’ romp through this music video on a spiritual quest. You can’t fault DonnaLou for not trying everything, for instance: “I meditate, I contemplate sometimes I even levitate in hopes that you won’t irritate the heaven out of me.” This raises the question, who is ‘You?’
It soon becomes evident that many of DonnaLou’s trials center around letting go of expectations she has for this “You” person. “If I were more like Buddha, you wouldn’t bother me, you’d leave your socks and underwear from here to eternity.”
I think I’m getting a clearer picture now…And a whiff of my own laundry basket, and surrounding floor area.
DonnaLou may never find enlightenment,or she may find it closer to home than she’s imagined…In the liqueur cabinet, perhaps? Grab your bodhi tree and come along for the ride, it’s the journey to enlightenment that’s important, anyway…No one has come back from achieving it to tell us differently!
