I grew up with Superman Steve Reeves as my idol and am about as far from Mr Whittle’s Republican world of life being only about profit, bombs and NRA Jesus as one can get.
I am also a big fan of Family Guy which I consider the funniest thing on TV. I like funny. I like it short, slapstick and over the top. But most of all, like any 8 year old, I love the fart jokes.
I was also a big fan of Gilligan’s Island and take issue with this nitwit’s spin that it was apolitical other than Gilligan being a working class moron.
Like most good sitcoms there was a secondary star behind the humor. Comes to mind Barney Fife, Ted Baxter, Major Burns and Kramer to name a few. On Gilligan’s Island it was Thursten Howell the III and his wife Lovey played by Jim Backus (voice of Mr Magoo) and Natalie Schafer who were portrayed as spoiled rotten rich Republicans. And of course The Professor who played the smart science guy. Bimbo stupid female Ginger. Leaving the Skipper, Mary Ann and Gilligan representing the working class, i;e, you and me. And of course not to forget that The Skipper and Gilligan modeled after Laurel and Hardy.
