I just finished my weekly hour of Republican TV, Fox News Sunday. Just for argument sake let us submit to the FOX NEWS twaddle that they are fair and balanced as is their moderate and independent News Sunday moderator, Chris Wallace.
This morning the left was represented by the two regular NPR milquetoast moderate Democrats Mara Laisson and Jaun Williams. The Republicans were represented by two hard core right-wing ideologues Billy Kristol and Charles Krauthhammer. They both make no pretense to hide their extreme visceral and personal hatred of Barack Obama. Every single thing President Obama has said or done these two complain it will be not only be the end of America but the world itself. (Same goes for George Will) I doubt there are any two men (3) who despise the President more than these two (3).
So I rewound to the start of the show and found the why of it. Both Krauthammer and Kristol see this nation and the world as dependent upon just one issue which drives the hatred and overwhelms the logic. No, not baby killing, but Viva Ireland and kill the Brits! And of course bombing Scotland before they get the bomb, and Wales and Belgium who may get the bomb. Oh and France. Fox News Sunday has given over representation of the Republican Party to two (3) identity extremists who care about nothing but their Irish heritage.
I was recently admonished for claiming all NEOCONS were Irish. I asked for the name of just one who was not. They thought a while and happily shouted "Christopher Hitchens!" Google finds Hitchen’s mother was Irish! But no matter all NEOCONS are Irish you cannot say that in America without expecting a lawsuit from Allan McDershowitz.
