Late last night the the FBI agreed to let let Michele Fiore and Franklin Graham into the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge this morning to talk the four remaining nutjobs into surrendering. A wise move by the FBI understanding that only nutjobs can reason with fellow nutjobs.
The fly in the ointment is that after that agreement the FBI arrested Cliven Bundy last night as he came off a plane in Portland Oregon. Charges are pending but related to last years armed standoff at the Bundy ranch.
If you follow the discourse of any of these gun enthusiasts there is no clear ideology other than they love guns very very very much and hate the federal government (the United States) very very very very much.
These gun enthusiasts have been around forever but it was not until talk radio and the internet that they became a real problem. It used to that you needed a shortwave radio to hear their insane gun gun conspiracy crap, but now its all over the radio waves, all over SirusFM and the internet. I suppose Alex Jones and Ted Nugent lead the way, and what better minds do we have here in the Heartland?
