Homophobic Hallmark has banned the donning of ‘gay apparel’ this holiday season…So just put your candy-cane striped socks and suspenders back in the drawer, fun seekers.
The well-known card and gift company is changing the familiar old Christmas carol verse from “Don we now our gay apparel” to “Don we now our FUN apparel” on their holiday items.
Presumably there is something wrong with being gay – as in jolly or merry, if it’s possible that someone will confuse it with the word ‘gay’ as it is used to denote sexuality. You can bet that a gay person feeling gay (jolly) is strictly forbidden!
Jackie asks people if this means that the jolly, festive and merry old elf – Santa is gay too, and whether it matters. Perhaps it’s better to be gay – by any definition, than stupid like Hallmark: “When you care to send the very best to your least literate, and socially conservative friends.”
