This was the first time I realized that when the words ARMED RALLY or ARMED PROTESTERS are used by the media that “the arms” are always semi automatic military assault rifles loaded with 40 round clips and extra magazines draping their bodies, on their belts or in knapsacks. You know, the kind of people you would like to organize a play date with for you children at their houses.
The absurdity with this call to arms to protect the statue of Sam Houston is that the call by Antifascists and Black Lives Matter to remove the statue from Herman park was 100% fake news.
It was made up crap by some fake news distributor on Twitter that within minutes of it going up, social media, local and national media reported it was fake and endless statements by both local and national Antifascist and Black Lives Matter groups saying they suggested no such thing.
But… Hundreds of armed bozo’s gathered in Herman Park to protect the statue from being torn down no matter.
Even on the face of it is fake news. For it is ridiculous to believe that THEY – blacks, browns, Muslims, immigrants, gays, transgenders, uppity women, liberals and the media – would make hay to take this stature down. For to do so would also mean we would have to rename the Astros, rename the Texans, rename the Rockets, rename the famous words from trouble returning from the Moon, and of course renaming the city itself.
[Sam Houston though a slave owner, as Governor he refused to join the Confederacy and was impeached for it, moved to Huntsville and grank himself to death. Which he had been doing all along. ]
These are the same kind of people who believe that Russian interference in the election is a non issue and that alienating all of Europe – now including Great Britain – Australia and the entire Pacific rim is a GOOD THING. What does The Donald have left? Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Russians. And who knows how long any of that will last with his fingers doing the walking on the shitter each morning.
Hate to be repetitive here but…
These are the kind of people who believe grabbing women by the pussy and bragging about it is okay, that ripping off people with a fake university is fine, that buying beauty pageants to barge unannounced into contestant dressing rooms to ogle naked girls is good character, that calling for violence at rallies is really cool, that nepotism is fine, and of course lying about almost everything is really really good. All because Donald Trump gives the finger to anyone and everyone who is smarter than they are.
Who is at the top of their hate list? The media [educated journalists], college professors, atheists/agnostics, scientists and even science itself, college students, uppity blacks and Muslims who as a whole have higher educations than they do. Muslim doctorates working in convenience stores.
But what about Mexicans? You would think they would bond with them. Oh that’s right, Mexicans may not be well educated but they work much harder and do all the jobs these rednecks refuse to do.
So what’s the problem with Mexicans anyway? The have a better work ethic, better family values, better faith and religion and better morals. What’s the problem? Names ending in vowels? Browness? English? Or just someone to blame for their own failures?
