This edition of Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Eye Witness News’ is inspired by presidential candidate Ted Cruz and his recent address to an Indiana crowd in which he mistakenly referred to a basketball hoop as a ‘ring.’ Jimmy may be correct when he supposes that Cruz – once viewed as a senator trying to convince us he’s a presidential candidate; is in truth an alien trying to convince us he’s a human being.
Jimmy sent the Eye Witness News crew out on Hollywood Boulevard, and asked people “What do you throw a basketball into?” to see if they could find anyone else who calls it a “ring.” This segment almost always catches people who are embellishing the truth or outright lying, but this episode is the glaring exception. Perhaps it’s time to re-energize the Birther movement, with an emphasis on aliens from the planet *Vogon.

Vogans are an officious, humorless and callous race, highly suited to be functionaries in the galactic civil service. As shape-shifters, in reality their appearance is somewhat shapeless, slug-like, and slimy. Said to ‘have as much sex appeal as a road accident,’ the race of unctuous civil servants are appointed (or anointed) to usher in a new era here on earth.
We report, you decide.
