John Oliver - Men Rule on International Women's Day

John Oliver was the first to mention International Women’s Day within my earshot, but next year there is no excuse for letting March 8th pass without observation – unless you are one of the public figures who used your forum to address the day  this year.Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey. will keep the “oppression of independence” from the ladies, and smooth talker Vladimir Putin has noticed –  you haven’t witched audibly while toting that barge or lifting that bale. Ah, but these two pudding heads meant well.

Of course I’m dying to tell you who the real bozo is, but I hate being a spoiler. Let’s just say that while women all over the world are struggling to emerge from centuries of darkness and subjugation, some have made the long, arduous climb to equality. Some work in positions once held entirely by men. Having climbed the ladder, such a women would certainly welcome the opportunity to congratulate and inspire her sisters.

One such foxy  ‘sister’ – her name rhymes with Greta Van Susteren, has found her place in a once male-dominated world.  Greta took a moment on International Women’s Day, to unexpectedly give a shout-out to American Men. Before you men cheer and slap each other on the back, you should know that Sister Susteren is giving you a shout-out because – she says, American men are not as bad as the Taliban.  Low bar isn’t it?

I was insulted for men, but it occurs to me that Susteren may be judging by those she is employed by, and works with. It may be a secret message, like HELP ME . If so, your message is received, sister.
