You know of course, the central issue of the Republican Party for the past 70 years is to destroy FDR’s New Deal. That would be Social Security retirement for those over 65, unemployment insurance for those out of work, and food and housing for invalids and needy children of single mothers. Nothing Republicans hate more than that kind of stuff. And about half the people in American vote for them. Really. No kidding.
