Any relation to Huey Long I wonder? No wait. Huey Long was a crooked populist on the side of the working poor who would give away health insurance and benefits and better wages and help of all sorts for the vote. What ever happened to Huey Long?
I heard from moderate Republican Joe Scarborough this morning, – you know the once congressman from the Florida Panhandle which not only has the reputation of being the most right-wing “shoot a doctor in the back” region in America but still have no shoe stores or dentists – explain the biggest fear Republicans have with Obamacare which will destroy America.
You see, down the road employers will stop offering their own health care plans and instead reimburse their employees the cost of those plans to use in the new private insurance exchanges that will cost less and cover more. That’s the great fear. And if that happens, then… Hmm… The people of the Florida Panhandle may be able to save enough money to buy shoes and go to the dentist every few years.
BTW, Scarborough and the whole GOP define the private insurance market place as GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTHCARE. SOCIALISM.
Do we really want to live the horror that is European Germany? Good jobs, good pay, good benefits, nice vacations, good education, little violence, few jails, good health and giant tubs of warm beer?
