This entire piece is a hard slam on Republicans. Its theme is that there may not be any redeeming social factor either within the Republican ideology or to be found in any Republican politician, including Olympia Snow. In fact this video begs the question… Name me one nice thing about a Republican? Just ONE thing that looks out for someone other than themselves.
Also notice that the title of the piece goes with Jon Stewart’s misdirected belief that we just have to all get along and stop calling each other names. The content is name calling directed specifically at Republicans while the title specifies "congress" (both Republicans and Democrats.)
This issue is why I stuck with Hillary until the very end. Hillary Clinton has the POLITICAL experience to understand the nature of the Republican Beast that both Obama and Stewart, TO THIS DAY, do not grasp. It’s much like dealing with Iran, North Korea or the Taliban. It is a matter of respect for strength, of offense over defense and kicking them back harder than they kicked you.
I believe had Hillary Clinton become President we would have the same foreign policy as we do with Obama, but we would have got health care with a public option, no tax breaks for the wealthy and the House would still be in Democratic hands. The Tea Party angst that changed the political dynamic came mostly from having a Black family in the White House. Which is the ugly truth of the matter. ADAF
