Larry Wilmore explains that with the Ferguson police chief telling Fox News that the shots fired at the demonstrations in Ferguson the other night were not from the protesters but outside agitators means African Americans have made progress in the year since Michael Brown was shot down. How much progress? In the next segment Mike Yard tells us it is about as much progress “as a bucket full of reindeer.”
The problem in all this for non Republican White people is best understood by right-wing Scott Walker backer, Black Milwaukee County police chief David Clarke, who is so “Clarence Thomas” disgusting” it makes it hard for the rest of us to chime in a agree with anything at all negative about African Americans and race relations. You know, it makes it hard to be honest.
For me and many white people like me who came of age in the Sixties who experienced some small amount of police brutality and unfairness that African Americans experience all their lives, we understand that had we been born Black with our rebellious nature we more than likely would not made it past 21.
Altruism, walking in someone else’s skin, seeing things from another’s shoes seems to be a genetic condition that Republicans were born without. It is what makes them Republicans. That lack of a “point of view” gene opens up the door to immutable cause which in turn makes a bigot of anyone calling them out on it. On no! You see how convoluted political correctness can be?
