Of course there are a few things Mr Romney does stand firm upon. Denying women the right to choose by executive order, signing legislation, overturning Roe v Wade with Supreme Court appointments and backing the insane constitutional amendment on personhood. No wishy-washy Mitt on women’s contraception rights, Planned Parenthood, denying women equal pay or gay marriage. And of course destroying PBS in most rural areas. Just what they need out there, less Sesame Street and more Fox News.
Speaking of rural Americans, have you ever looked at one of those RED BLUE election maps of most any state? You can’t help but take notice of what is the most universal separation in American politics. Many states, like my progressive home state of Wisconsin, is solid red except for two small blue splotches in Milwaukee and Madison, and a tiny dot up above Green Bay, which I suppose is an Indian Reservation. With Oklahoma has no blue in it whatsoever. Or trees.
So what separates the rural from the urban? Of course there is race. Most rural Americans only see African-Americans on TV. Rural Americans are also less educated, poorer, easy prey to religious intolerance, and spend much more time pooping in the woods, but I have realized the most profound difference. Killing animals.
Oh, and this also go me thinking of the original song Candy Man by Sammy Davis Jr. Was that about cocaine? Was the rat pack on coke?
