inexplicably invited Beck to "Glenn Beck Day" and to receive a key to the city, the City Council passed a resolution saying "Mount Vernon City Council is in no way sponsoring the mayor’s event on Sept. 26, 2009, and is not connected to the
Glenn Beck event in any manner.
For fun during his speech far from Mount Vernon at Safeco Field, he was cheered for stating that winning the W.O.T. was more important than health care reform. To top things off, a far right version of kumbaya was sung. While large photos of
President Obama and Democratic Gov.Christine Gregoire were projected, the crowd had a good boo and hiss session. Imagine! They claim Beck is "too polarizing a figure." Mount Vernon City Government decries any connection to home boy Glenn Beck!
