There is absolutely no reason for Republicans to cast Planned Parenthood in the light of The Great Abortion Provider. Signs carried by zealots claim that federal money shouldn’t go to abortions, hence Planned Parenthood should be defunded. Surely lawmakers know that federal money isn’t used to provide abortions, yet they’re using the issue to pander to their base. and to make it appear that Democrats are irrationally holding up budget agreements over this one issue.
This week former President Bill Clinton spoke about the issue: "The Republicans elimination of funding for Planned Parenthood will in the end cost more than it saves by ending the ability of millions of American women to receive family planning services, breast and cervical cancer screenings, and preventative health care at cost-efficient Planned Parenthood centers. The denial of simple birth control and family planning may will increase abortions."
The difficulty of obtaining birth control has always caused a need for more abortions. Are the short sighted, ignorant, or wickedly pandering? None of the choices are honorable or should be tolerated.
