Lawrence O’Donnell’s "Rewrite" examines the odd reaction of the Right over President Obama’s success in eliminating Bin Laden. Wouldn’t this day of national insults and quibbling be a day of adult beverage rejoicing if a Republican president had been at the helm? Two of the loudest righties give us an example of their petty pique.
Rush Limbaugh really stepped on it! Limbaugh issued a statement to the effect that if Obama had failed in this mission, his career would be over! Let’s review: President Bush had Osama in the sites of Delta Force in 2002, and told them to stand down! Apparently it didn’t end his career to the great disappointment of many. I doubt Limbaugh’s memory fails him. The great hypocrite is simply accustomed to going unchallenged.
It has now been over a decade since The Pig or Propaganda stated he will not appear anywhere without full control of the microphone and venue.
Another party heard from, gave a party on day 1, complete with a confused marching band, confetti, and cookies – wheee! Today Beck has switched gears, or slipped a cog. He would have you believe that Bush turned down an invitation to the Ground Zero ceremony because it is such a slimy attention grab. Why then won’t the niggling feeling go away that had Bush accidentally captured Bin Laden despite his friendship with the family, that gaudy parades would prevail and streamers would be flying – another ‘Mission Accomplished."
