Not everyone is ready to call last week’s Supreme Court decisions about Prop 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act a victory for civil rights. Let’s take a look at who is ready to keep up the fight and claim that they have been injured by gay marriage.
Wait until you see who’s defending so-called traditional marriage! From what I gather, if Prop 8 is allowed to stand, every heterosexual’s own marriage is in danger. Personally I can’t think of anyone who is impacted in this way, with the possible exception of the Bachmanns, who make a tidy stack of bills as long as homophobia is holy.
The warriors and safe-keepers of ‘real’ marriage can only do their job with your help. Take Mark ‘Jesus Wept’ Huckabee…Please. If you but only send money to his PAC he can stop you from leaving your marriage for a walk on the wild side. Secretly he feels that Prop 8 is the best thing to come along in a decade of blue moons. The same is true of a staggeringly long list of individuals, churches and coalitions. If you’re still not certain about Prop 8, just follow the money of those who protest, way too much.
