Quinnipiac Poll shows something horribly wrong in Gun America

A few years ago I noticed most Republican commentators, talk show hosts, politicians and pundits would be always citing "The Rasmussen Poll" to make whatever conservative point they wished to make. This past year that has changed with them now moving to "Quinnipiac Poll" to make their conservative points.

I am a firm believer in polls and accept them in their time, place and wording. I also believe that smart people do not  spend billions of dollars a year on polls that are either crap or don’t mean anything. With that said I tend to believe what Quinnipaiac comes up with no matter how depressing it may be.

Two numbers ring out loudly this week from a Quinnpiac poll that tell the story of not only of a very ill informed American public, but one irrevocably lost to a gungoonery matched no where else in the world other than Yemen.

When asked which side is more responsible for using heated political rhetoric, 36 percent said that liberals are, while 32 percent blamed conservatives. Quinnpiac poll

My God, there are are literally thousands of Right-wing pundits who are in total control of "hate talk" shortwave radio and near total control of AM radio. Fox News which does nothing but generate hate toward liberals and Democrats has a bigger share than all the rest of cable news networks PUT TOGETHER. The names Limbaugh, Savage, Boortz, Levin, Beck, O’Reilly just saturating the airways all up against whom? Name them. There are three that can be named, all far more honesty, civil, and credible than any of those on the Right:  Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and Ed Shultz? Three against THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS and the American public sees more Liberals at fault in civil discourse than conservatives. That is the power of unchecked political propaganda with the Mainstream Media crapting their pants afraid to address it for losing share. Best to just claim its all equal. If the Republicans were promoting eating children, the media would be for eating children moderately.

Only 9 percent of Americans blamed the Tuscon massacre on lax gun laws. Quinnpaiac poll

A state where anyone other than a convicted felon (though they can buy guns at gunshows) can walk into a Walmart or Cabela’s, buy as many hand guns, assault rifles and  30 round clips as the can load into the car, and without a permit, carry as many as they can hold loaded with 30 round clips loaded and a round in the chamber, and with their pockets, bandoleers, knapsacks and bags  full of as many more 30 clips as they wish, and walk around town, go into churches, restaurants and BARS… And only 9% of Americans think that has anything to do with any of this means we are a very sick society.

To stay as unpopular as I am, I feel obligated to make the connection of that kind of thinking, that believing whatever it is we WANT to believe no matter how insane, with the same incongruity of our American brand of Christian belief.
