Rand Paul is running for president. The Tea Party Dream it is said. A hybrid candidate of Ron Paul Libertarianism and Right-wing Christian swill.
He has been in the news recently telling Republicans they had better start talking nicer to African Americans and Hispanics. Of course he supports no change in any real policy regarding either minority, it’s just that the GOP needs to get out there with hat in hand and say nice things to them. Doing anything is not hat worthy.
Sure Paul Rand will give them support against mandatory sentencing and more fairness in drug sentencing but that’s about it.
I do give him some credit for riling up Republicans by saying Republicans never take the side of any unarmed black kid shot down in the streets. Their historic and universal response has always been only screaming about the THUG, the CRIMINAL or AL SHARPTON. But you see, Rand Paul is only talking about the talk, not the walk.
Here are just a few examples of where Rand Paul stands on issues. Please understand that Rand Paul gets a 100% rating from the American Conservative Union. He wants Republicans to talk nicer to minorities while he kicks them in the head with policy even harder than traditional Republicans. He believes the GOP needs to do a better job of bullpoopting the poor misguided idiots:
Backs the Personhood Amendment making a zygot a person and eliminating all abortions for any reason.
Will not say he believes in evolution.
Elimination of the Dept of Education and a hard line advocate of home schooling.
Elimination of the Department of Energy.
Elimination of the Department of Commerce.
Elimination of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Would not have voted for the clause in the Civil Rights Act that forces private companies to allow African Americans to eat, drink water, sleep of take a poop where they wish like anyone else.
Opposes all gun control legislation.
Against food stamps, claims it is slavery.
Repeal of Obamacare and all federal health care policies.
Privatize Social Security.
Supports the coal industry and the Koch Borthers
Fully supports Citizens United.
Against the Fair Housing Act
Personally against gay marriage.
As many have said, if Rand Paul does ever become President of the United States he will be the most conservative President in American history, well other than perhaps Silent Cal Coolidge. But hey, look at all the things Calvin is so fondly remembered for!
