This pretty much says it all about Republicans.
I recently watched the three part 2011 Ken Burns documentary on Prohibition. What surprised me was what little difference there was 100 years ago with today. A nation divided primarily by rural/urban and North(West)/South. Or in a larger sense, smart versus dumb.
And it is not only that the GOP is the party of the rich taking joy in so openly stomping on the poor, it is also the party of religious intolerance, bigotry, racism, gun violence and hating Yankee liberals so much they bleed bullets.
What will it take for rural and Southern working class white Americans to begin voting for Democrats and their own self interest? The only thing I can come up with is a die off. And what with Lipitor, Plavix and Hyzzar it is taking much longer that expected.
