“Never have so many benefited from screwing so many.” It genuinely is the “If you vote for me, I’ll kill your puppy” platform, and those with the most to lose gladly voted for those who will surely take it from them. Why would voters elect the candidate who has promised to continue mistreating them, while favoring his wealthy friends? Either ‘At least he ain’t Obama’ is strong with this crowd, or ‘Benghazi! Benghazi! Benghazi!’ Then again, perhaps they are so severely impacted by the hate rays emanating from right wing swill day in and day out that they cannot be held accountable…And that is as charitable as I can be.
Fortunately cartoonist and political commentator Mark Fiore has some thoughts on the recent election. Humans are a little hard to figure out sometimes, and that makes for an interesting Democracy. Congressional Republicans just finished a successful campaign that focused on not being Obama. Forget about the issues and actually having a platform, the party of We’re-Not-Obama came out on top
One of the most fascinating things about this election was comparing what people actually believe in versus what or who they actually voted for. Voting against your own interests seemed to be the dominant theme in this election. Happy with your Kentucky Kynect health exchange, brought to you by Obama’s Affordable Care Act? Then you’ll definitely want to vote for Mitch McConnell so he can keep trying to dismantle Obamacare bit by bit. Huh?
