The wording used by the Founding Fathers in the Second Amendment, in describing “A well regulated militia” did not factor in automatic weapons despite argument to the contrary. To bring the point home, this ad from ‘States United to Prevent Gun Violence’ graphically demonstrates a gun tragedy in the workplace about to erupt – but for the shooter’s musket. Obviously the group is not advocating a return to muskets, but they do advocate a change in gun laws – arguing that our current laws stemming from 1791 are far from adequate for the present day.
